Chad Young

Gainesville, FL

As far back as I can remember during childhood, our house was always filled with wonderful music. My parents enjoyed everything from country gospel tunes to classic rock and my siblings and I all developed a deep and abiding love for all things musical. Maybe that is what inspired me to those piano lessons at age 8 and a lifetime as a musician on wide variety of instruments including cello, trombone, tuba, and bass guitar. To me, dancing, whether it is Swing, Ballroom, or just shaking your booty around the house, dancing, to me is yet another great way to enjoy my life-long love – music. Dancing of any kind is simply music in motion. Swing dancing, with its energy and vitality has an undeniable allure and, during my odd stints as a DJ, I try to find music that moves, grooves, and gets people in that magically, intensely, vitally NOW moment that only music and dance can provide. When not offering my humble services as a DJ and sound system provider, I can usually be found on a dance floor near you Swing dancing or Ballroom dancing or playing the bass guitar with the Gainesville Community Jazz Band. May I have this dance?
