President: Paula Cohen
Paula Cohen is a junior studying agriculture communication and entomology at UF. She began swing dancing in South Florida
and has loved every minute of it! In her spare time, she enjoys silly web
comics, hot cocoa and watching Doctor Who. Please contact her if you have any
questions or comments about the club!
Vice President: Sami Gerwick
Sami Gerwick likes it smooth, fast, and on the wood
floor. If there is a song playing, it is guaranteed that you will see him
dancing, or shaking some part of his body. He is currently enrolled as a
masters of achitecture student and teaches design one and two.
Tresurer: Treasure Thwaites
No, it's not a fallacy, our treasurer's name is Treasure. She is a truly valuable member of the FSDC Officer Team and a great dancer to boot. Watch out for her swivels; they're awesome!
Secretary: Jonathan Wyers
Wyers is a sophomore nuclear engineering major. You might also recognize him as a resident assistant with the UF Housing Department. He’s been swing dancing for a little over a year now, though do not let
this intimidate you. If he asks you to
dance, say yes!
DJ Coordinator: Stewart Williams
Stewart is an industrial engineering major, and has been
swing dancing for years. He loves the moves, the music and the people. If you
ever need someone to dance with, he is always willing. Also if you have the slightest indiction that you might, someday maybe kinda
want to think about considering to try DJ'ing for a swing night, shoot him a
message. It'll be fun
Teaching Coordinator: Essie Jennings
Essie started ballroom, latin, swing, and country western dancing in
2004. This agricultural education major especially loves west coast swing and blues, but lindy is a close second. In her spare time, Essie
teaches group and private swing dance classes and volunteers at a
therapeutic riding facility.
Historian: Katrina Gaffney
Katrina is an english major at the University of Florida.
Her love for swing dancing is rooted in her love for vintage and terrible
memories of awkwardness at middle and high school dances. When she is not
dancing she likes to read and write poetry and plays. Katrina started swing
dancing at UF and will continue to dance wherever life leads (pun intended).
Members Committee Chair: Danielle Heaps
Danielle is a wildlife ecology major at UF. Her interest in
swing dancing was first piqued when she attended a meeting of the club in her
freshman year...and she's been at every dance since! Making sure others have
fun and love to dance is something she truly strives for, and she loves to
dance with all members of the club, regardless of experience. If you have any
questions, she is always there to answer them!
Public Relations Chair: Tyrel Clayton
Tyrel is a sophomore at the University of Florida, studying
English. He has just one rule: Ask him to dance! Life may not be the party we
hoped for, but while we’re here we should dance. Nobody cares if you can't
dance well. Just get up and dance!
Fundraising Chair: Jackie King
Jackie is currently an english major and has been swing
dancing for just over a year. She has enjoyed every minute of it and getting to
know all of the amazing dancers in the club. If you need a partner, feel free
to ask and she’ll dance. If you have been dancing forever or just getting started
all you need to do is ask and have fun.
Webmaster: Holly Frost
Holly is a junior mechanical engineering major, who loves swing dancing. She enjoys teaching, DJing, and social dancing with everyone!
